The history of our church is a story of God’s perfect plan played out in His perfect timing. Our story begins with a group of 20 people on the south-side of Indianapolis praying for a Harvest Bible Chapel to be planted in the area. It is the faithful prayers of this group of people that tilled the ground and prepared the way for the powerful work the Lord has done in our church.
During this time, God was moving in the heart of Pastor Brock. In the spring of 2009, the Lord made it clear to him that he was called to plant a church. In the spring of 2014, God brought all these pieces together. The core group and Pastor Brock began discussing and seeking the Lord intently on the reality of planting a Harvest Bible Chapel in Indy’s south suburbs. In the fall of 2014, Pastor Brock left staff at Rock Point to begin the preparations for the plant. A core group of roughly 30-40 people began meeting each Sunday night in February of 2015. On September 13, 2015, Harvest Bible Chapel Indy South launched as a church with its very first public worship service held at Clark-Pleasant Middle School.
We believe firmly in the power of worship, the Word, prayer, and witness. God has called us to glorify Him through the fulfillment of the great commission. As we’ve done the best we can to hold to these core commitments, it’s been incredible to see God be faithful to His promise in Matthew 16:18- “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” He has done the real work of building His church as the people of Harvest Indy South have been faithful to His calling.
